The US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced Wednesday that it has made a significant change to its original preliminary determination in the antidumping (AD) investigation of OCTG from Taiwan.

As the result of correcting what the DOC describes as “a significant ministerial error”, the DOC now finds that mandatory respondent Tension Steel Industries Co., Ltd. has a preliminary weighted-average dumping margin of zero (0.00 percent).

Since the DOC previously found that the other mandatory respondent – Chung Hung Steel Corporation – has a preliminary dumping margin of zero, the DOC has made a negative preliminary dumping determination with respect to Taiwan as a whole.

Although there is now a negative preliminary determination with respect to OCTG from Taiwan, the DOC will nevertheless continue this investigation and issue a final determination.
