US declares countries allowed to participate in tenders in Iraq

US Ministry of Defense yesterday released the list of 63 countries which are allowed to participate in tenders, which US allocated $18.6 billion, for the reconstruction of Iraq. Besides, the conference for informing companies interested in the tenders was planned to take place this week, however is delayed to early January 2004 without any declaration. Same was delayed several times before. The list of countries, where countries such as Germany, France and Russia opposing to the US' operation in Iraq are not included, is as follows: Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czech Rep., Denmark, Dominican Rep., Egypt, El Salvador, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Honduras, Iceland, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Latvia, Macedonia, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Moldavia, Mongolia, Morocco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Oman, Palau, Panama, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Tonga, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Uganda, Ukraine, England, US, and Uzbekistan.
