The effective date of the US Department of Commerce's (DOC) preliminary subsidy determination regarding standard and structural pipe imports from China will be Tuesday, November 13.  US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will require the deposit of the estimated countervailing duties or a bond to cover such duties for entries of these products from China on or after this date.

In addition, CBP will suspend liquidation of entries for Chinese standard and structural pipes made on or after August 15, 2007, because the DOC has made an affirmative preliminary determination of   "critical circumstances" for all entries of the subject merchandise. Imports from the Weifang mill are excluded from both actions. This mill had been assigned a preliminary subsidy margin of 0.00 percent.
