US cut-length plate exports rise 31.6 percent in March

US exports of cut-length plate totaled 103,192 mt in March, up 31.6 percent from February and up 9.2 percent from March 2016 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $95.8 million in March, compared to $70.7 million in the previous month and $79.9 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Canada in March, with 46,041 mt, compared to 39,447 mt in February and 57,686 mt in March 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 40,693 mt; Belgium, with 6,000 mt; Brazil, with 2,922; Sweden, with 2,013 mt; China, with 2,005 mt; and Chile, with 1,598 mt.
