US CRC exports rise 7.1 percent in January

US exports of cold rolled sheets totaled 48,854 mt in January, up 7.1 percent from December but down 1.9 percent from January 2016 levels. By value, CRC exports totaled $50.4 million in January, compared to $46.1 million in the previous month and $47.2 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most CRC to Mexico in January, with 28,738 mt, compared to 28,040 mt in December and 25,626 mt in January 2016. Other top destinations included Canada, with 18,972 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US CRC exports in January.
