Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending May 26, the
US rotary rig count increased by seven to 908 following a 16-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by five to 185, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by two to 722. The overall rig count is now up by 504 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by eight to 93 rigs in the week ending May 26, following a five-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 50 rigs from the same week a year ago.
