Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending April 17 the
US rig count decreased by 34 to 954, after a 40-rig drop the previous week. The gas rig count increased by eight to 217, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 26 to 734. The overall rig count is down by 877 from 1,831 rigs during the same week a year ago.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by 19 in the week ending April 17 to 80, after a one-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is down by 119 from 199 rigs during the same week a year ago.
