Ural Steel starts strip supply for ESPO oil pipeline
Ural Steel, a part of Russian Metalloinvest Holding, completed the adjustment of technology for production of sheets of strength class K-60, which are used for construction of Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) oil pipeline and started the industrial supplies of the strips to Cheliabinsk Pipe-rolling Plant. During the first half of 2006, Ural Steel supplied to Cheliabinsk Pipe-rolling Plant approximately 12,500 tons of strips, while starting from July it started to supply about 10,000 monthly to the pipe-rolling plant. In the production of electro-welded pipes for the oil pipeline, sheet of strength class K-56 – K-70 with thickness of 11-27 mm is used. Ural Steel is fully in use of technology for production of sheet of strength class K-60 with thickness of up to 16 mm.
