Universal Stainless and Alloy Products Inc. announced today it will increase base prices for tool steel plate products and all premium melted steels consisting of vacuum-arc remelted and electro-slag remelted steels. Base prices will be raised 5 percent on all tool steel plate products and 8 percent on all premium melted steels, effective with shipments March 13, 2006. "The base price increases are necessary to recover rising energy and manufacturing supply costs while enabling us to continue our reinvestment in equipment and facilities to better serve the needs of our customers," commented VP of sales and marketing, Dudley J. Merchant. Universal Stainless and Alloy Products Inc. is headquartered in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, and manufactures and markets a broad line of semi-finished and finished specialty steels, including stainless steel, tool steel and certain other alloyed steels.
