Ukrainian steel producer Unisteel has commissioned its new 100,000 mt annual capacity HDG line at the city of Kryviy Rih in the Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk, with the total investment in the project amounting to $21.5 million.
The new HDG line will produce galvanized coils, of 0.3-2.0 mm in thickness and of up to 1,250 mm in width and with zinc coating thickness in a range of 90-400 g/m2, from cold rolled coils from Russia, Ukraine and overseas sources. The supplier of the line's equipment was South Korean company Dongbu Machinery.
The new line's designed capacity of up to 8,000 mt per month is planned to be reached gradually, taking into account the situation in the market. About 50 percent of the produced galvanized steel is to be directed to the Ukrainian market, while the rest is to be exported to Russia and CIS countries.
