According to a report released by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), in November of the current year the producer price index (PPI) for the UK manufacturing industry decreased by 1.1 percent month on month and recorded a 12.9 percent year-on-year rise. In the 12 months up to November, the output price index of manufactured products for the domestic market increased 11.5 percent year on year.
In November, the UK's PPI for the basic metal industry rose by one percent from the previous month and was up 16.6 percent year on year. In the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, decreased by 0.2 percent compared to October and was up one percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the imported metals sector, in November of the current year the input price index of imported basic iron and steel, ferroalloys, tube and pipes in the UK increased by 4.2 percent month on month and was up 35.7 percent compared to November 2015, while the imported other basic metal product input price index rose 2.8 percent compared to the previous month and was up 35.1 percent year on year.
