Ukrainian pig iron exports up 20 percent in 2011

According to the data released by metal trading enterprise Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK), in 2011 Ukrainian exports of pig iron increased by 19.8 percent year on year to 1.774 million mt.

In December alone, exports of pig iron from Ukraine increased by 38.6 percent compared to November, rising to 246,900 mt.

In 2011, Ukraine's imports of pig iron decreased by 32.2 percent year on year to 43,700 mt.
