Ukrainian semi-finished steel exports up three percent in Q1

According to the data released by metal trading enterprise Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK), in the first quarter of the current year Ukrainian exports of semi-finished steel products increased by 3.2 percent year on year to 2.716 million mt.

In the January-March quarter of this year, Ukraine exported 1.535 million mt of slabs - up 27.8 percent, while exports of square billets dropped by 18.2 percent to 1.167 million mt, both compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, exports of semi-finished steel products from Ukraine increased by 55.3 percent in March compared to February, rising to 1.066 million mt.
