Ukrainian mill Ilyich carries out blast furnace overhaul work

Ukraine's largest vertically-integrated mining and steel group Metinvest has stated that a major overhaul of blast furnace No. 4 has been carried out within the framework of the production modernization program at its subsidiary Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol.

The main emphasis was on carrying out overhaul work to improve equipment reliability growth and to prolong the operating period of the iron-melting unit. The investment in the modernization of the blast furnace totaled about UAH 18.5 million ($2.3 million).
