Ukrainian metallurgical firms see loss of UAH 16.4 billion in Jan-Aug

The Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom has announced that in the January-August period of this year Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises' pre-tax losses increased by 2.1 times year on year, rising from UAH 7.7 billion in January-August 2013 to UAH 16.4 billion ($1.248 billion), despite the rise in the metallurgical enterprises' overall net income by 21.6 percent year on year to UAH 115.1 billion ($8.76 billion).
