Ukrainian June iron ore imports
Data released from the Ukrainian State Committee of Statistics show that the country's iron ore imports fell 53.3 percent month on month to 127'170 tons in June. Meanwhile, expenditures for the purchase of iron ore reduced 68.1 percent to $5.98 million. In comparison with June 2004, the import of iron ore during June increased 157.5 percent. For January-June 2005 period, iron ore imports fell 10.9 percent year on year to 1.5 million tons. The statistics agency also indicated that Ukraine's coke imports fell 25.9 percent month on month to 60'270 tons in June. On the other hand, coke imports rose 5.6 percent compared to the same period last year. For January-June 2005 period, coke imports reduced 3.4 percent year on year to 449'370 tons.
