According to the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA), in H1 2010 Ukraine increased its ferroalloys production by almost 2.3 times compared to the same period last year to 772,400 mt.
Accordingly, during the first six months of this year, Ukraine's silicomanganese output increased by 2.14 times to 514,300 mt, its ferromanganese production went up by about four times to 148,100 mt, its ferrosilicon output increased by 93 percent to 102,800 mt, while its metallic manganese production went up by 16 percent to 7,200 mt, all compared to the same period of 2009.
Specifically, in January-June 2010, the largest Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant increased its ferroalloy output by almost 2.3 times year on year to 482,000 mt, including 368,500 mt of silicomanganese and 113,500 mt of ferromanganese.
Meanwhile, during the period in question, Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant increased its ferroalloy output by 2.34 times year on year to 173,500 mt, including 102,900 mt of silicomanganese, 34,600 mt of ferromanganese, 28,800 mt of ferrosilicon and 7,200 mt of metallic manganese.
In addition, another major Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant increased its H1 ferroalloy output by about 2.3 times year on year to 116,900 mt, including 74,000 mt of ferrosilicon and 42,900 mt of silicomanganese.
