Ukraine’s coke production declines in January-May

In the January-May period this year, Ukrainian coke-chemical plants' production of metallurgical coke with a moisture content of six percent decreased by 40.4 percent compared to the same period last year to 4.26 million mt, according to the Ukrainian Coke Producers' Association (UkrKoks).

In May this year, Ukraine's coke production amounted to 969,000 mt, while in the previous month coke production was 842,000 mt.

According to the preliminary results issued by UkrKoks, in May of the current year Azovsteel (Metinvest) produced 129,000 mt of coke, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih produced 159,000 mt of coke, Avdiivka Coke (Metinvest) recorded an output of 162,000 mt, while Alchevskkoks (ISD) produced 51,000 mt. In May, overall aggregate daily coke output of Ukrainian coke-chemical plants increased to 31,000 mt, from 26,000 mt in April.
