Ukraine’s automotive output sees 19 percent rise in 2010

According to the data issued by the Ukrainian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association - Ukrautoprom, in 2010 Ukrainian automakers produced 82,814 vehicles, registering a 19 percent year-on-year increase.

In particular, in 2010, Ukraine's automakers produced 74,992 cars - up 14 percent, 2,693 buses - up 76 percent, and 5,129 trucks - up 117 percent, all compared to 2009.

Accordingly, the 19 percent year-on-year increase in the country's automotive output was mainly due to results from December, when Ukrainian automakers saw a 32 percent month-on-month rise and a 385 percent year-on-year increase in their output to 11,172 vehicles, including 10,454 cars - up 493 percent, 316 buses - down 29 percent, and 402 trucks - up 306 percent, all compared to December 2009.
