The Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant (ZZF) has stopped operations at its melting furnaces No.15 and No. 27, due to the worsening of demand in the markets.

Currently, ZZF is maintaining operations at 11 of its 31 furnaces, while its production level is 11,989 mt per month, i.e. 28.5 percent of its capacity.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, overall in 2009 ZZF expects to operate at 75-80 percent of its production capacities, manufacturing a monthly average of about 30,000-35,000 mt of ferroalloy products.

Moreover, up to 2012 ZZF plans to invest around UAH 764 million (approx. $97.3 million) in the modernization of its production facilities.
