Ukraine's steel output drops 11.3 percent

A source from the Cabinet of Ministers has reported that Ukraine's steel output dropped 11.3 percent or 352,430 tons month on month to 2.76 million tons in February. Thus, Krivorozhstal's steel output decreased 11.9 percent or 69,100 tons to 511,000 tons, Ilyich 12.4 percent or 69,300 tons to 475,900 tons, Azovstal 18.7 percent or 88,370 tons to 383,780 tons and Zaporizhstal 7.1 percent or 25,500 tons to 336,100 tons. In January-February 2006, steel production dropped 6.4 percent or 398,600 tons year on year to 5.87 million tons.
