Ukraine’s semi-finished steel exports down 32.3% in January-April

According to the data released by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, in the January-April period of this year Ukraine exported 2.44 million mt of semi-finished steel, down 32.3 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year, worth a total of $914.87 million, down 47 percent year on year.

In monetary terms, the exports mostly went to Egypt (24.01 percent), Turkey (22.86 percent) and Italy (20.44 percent).

Meanwhile, in the same period, Ukraine imported 2,752 mt of semi-finished steel, down 80.9 percent year on year, worth a total of $1.15 million, down 85.9 percent year on year. The main supplier of semi-finished steel imports to Ukraine in the January-April period was Russia, which supplied 82.45 percent of the total import volume.
