Ukraine’s scrap exports decrease, pig iron exports increase in Jan-July

According to the data released by metal trading enterprise Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK), in the first seven months of the current year Ukraine's scrap exports decreased by 14 percent year on year to 353,980 mt. In July alone, Ukraine's scrap exports decreased by 35.8 percent compared to June, falling to 38,140 mt.

In addition, according to the same source, in January-July Ukrainian exports of pig iron increased by 20.4 percent year on year to 1.022 million mt. In July alone, exports of pig iron from Ukraine increased by 1.8 percent compared to June, rising to 145,990 mt.
