The Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) has issued the production results of its iron ore subsidiaries for the first two months of 2009.
Accordingly, in January-February 2009, Metinvest's Central GOK (CGOK) registered a 44.4 percent decrease in its concentrate production and a 6.3 percent drop in its pellets output, both compared to same period of 2008. The respective figures in metric tons were 621,600 and 374,500.
During the first two months of 2009, Severniy GOK (SevGOK) produced 1.917 million mt of concentrate - down 17.4 percent year on year, and 1.275 million mt of pellets - down 26.9 percent.
Meanwhile, Metinvest's Inguletskiy GOK (InGOK) in January-February 2009 registered a 39.6 percent decrease year on year in its concentrate output, to 1.446 million mt.
