Ukraine’s long steel imports rise by 16.3 percent in Jan-May

In the January-May period of the current year, Ukraine registered a 16.3 percent increase year on year in its long steel product imports to 164,500 mt, according to the data issued by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers. In May alone, Ukraine's long steel product imports increased by 17.1 percent month on month to 37,980 mt.


In the January-May period, Ukrainian exports of long steel products increased by one percent compared to the same period of 2011, rising to 2.455 million mt. In May alone, Ukraine's long steel product exports decreased by 13 percent month on month to 455,790 mt.
