Ukraine’s iron ore exports worth $947.4 million in January-April

In the January-April period of this year, Ukraine exported 12.02 million mt of iron ore, down 15.8 percent year on year, according to the data released by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine. The value of Ukraine’s iron ore exports in the given period amounted to $947.4 million, rising by 85 percent compared to the same period of 2016.
 
In terms of value, the exports mostly went to China (30 percent), Poland (10.6 percent) and Austria (10.4 percent).
 
Meanwhile, in the first four months of the current year Ukraine imported 201,800 mt of iron ore worth a total of $21.6 million. The main supplier of iron ore to Ukraine in the given period was Russia.
