Ukraine’s iron ore exports worth $1.16 billion in January-May

In the January-May period of this year, Ukraine exported 15.72 million mt of iron ore, with a value of $1.16 billion, according to the data released by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine. In the given period, the share of iron ore in the country’s total exports was 6.8 percent.
 
In terms of value, the exports mostly went to China (28.6 percent), the Czech Republic (10.7 percent) and Poland (10.7 percent).
 
Meanwhile, in the first five months of the current year Ukraine imported 201,825 mt of iron ore worth a total of $21.58 million. The main supplier of iron ore to Ukraine in the given period was Russia.
