Ukraine’s iron ore exports up 13.9 percent in January-April

In the January-April period of this year, Ukraine exported 14.75 million mt of iron ore, up 13.9 percent, worth a total of $769.21 million, down 42.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data released by State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.

In monetary terms, the exports mostly went to China (45.65 percent), to Poland (10.50 percent) and to the Czech Republic (10.52 percent).

Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year Ukraine imported 670,079 mt of iron ore, down 42.7 percent, worth a total of $33.64 million, down 66.9 percent, both on year-on-year basis. The main supplier of iron ore imports in the given period was Russia, which supplied 99.99 percent of the total import volume.
