Ukraine’s Ilyich denies sale of shares

The Ukrainian flat steel producer Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) has denied the media reports that the entire stake of ZAO Ilyich-Stal in Ilyich, equal to 90.4 percent of total shares in the steelmaker, has been sold.

"The information on the sale of shares does not correspond to reality. We see this as an attempt to manipulate the media and the public opinion, in order to discredit the management of the company, creating instability around the enterprise. This is another provocation, which is a continuation of raider attacks on one of the largest metallurgical plants in the country," reads the company's statement.
