Ukraine’s ferrous metal imports and exports rise in value in January

According to the data issued by the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, in January this year Ukraine's exports of ferrous metals increased in value by 52 percent year on year to $1.448 billion, while its exports of ferrous metal products went up by 156 percent year on year to $235 million. The share of exports of ferrous metals and ferrous metal products in the country's overall January export structure amounted to 31.3 percent and 5.1 percent respectively.
 
Meanwhile, in January, Ukraine's imports of ferrous metals increased in value by 46.7 percent to $148 million, and its imports of ferrous metal products went up by 7.9 percent to $46 million, both compared to the same period last year. The share of imports of ferrous metals and ferrous metal products in the country's overall import structure amounted to 2.9 percent and 0.9 percent respectively.
