Ukraine's DMZ halts production at its open-heart furnaces

Ukraine-based steel mill Donetskstal Metallurgical Plant (DMZ) has announced that it has halted steel production at its open-hearth furnaces. DMZ has started installation of an electric arc steel furnace (DSP 150), produced by Siemens VAI, with a modern gas purification system. The company has already invested $150 million in the first phase of the reconstruction of its metallurgical production facilities.
