Ukraine’s coal mining output down 3.1 percent in January-July

In the first seven months of the current year, Ukraine's coal mining output decreased by 3.1 percent year on year to 46.323 million mt, according to Ukraine's Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.

In the meantime, in the first seven months Ukrainian state-owned mines produced 14.24 million mt, up 5.3 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in July alone Ukraine's coal mining production amounted to 5.583 million mt, down 21.6 percent compared to July 2013 due to the impact of the armed conflict in the Donetsk region. This volume includes 1.182 million mt of coking coal and 4.401 million mt of thermal coal.
