Ukraine’s automotive output falls 12 percent in January-August

According to the data issued by the Ukrainian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association - Ukrautoprom, in January-August this year Ukrainian automakers produced 45,193 vehicles, registering a 12 percent decrease year on year. In particular, during the period in question, local automakers produced 40,161 cars - down 19 percent, 1,661 buses - up 162 percent, and 3,371 trucks - up 127 percent, all compared to January-August 2009.

In August this year, Ukraine saw an 11 percent month-on-month decrease in automotive output to 6,674 units, including 6,016 cars - down 13 percent, 294 buses - up 16 percent, and 364 trucks - down five percent, all compared to July.
