Ukraine issues production results for first four months

In the first four months of the current year, Ukraine registered a 1.2 percent increase year on year in its finished steel product output to 9.659 million mt, a 0.6 percent rise in its pig iron production to 9.604 million mt but a 4.7 percent decrease in its crude steel output to 11.127 million mt, according to the data issued by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers.

The country's production of metallurgical coke in the given period went down by 0.7 percent year on year to 6.491 million mt.

In the January-April period this year, Ukraine produced 22.052 million mt of iron ore concentrate and 7.424 million mt of iron ore pellets, up 3.4 percent and 5.5 percent respectively compared to the same period last year.

In April alone, Ukraine produced 2.548 million mt of finished steel products - up 2.9 percent, 2.951 million mt of crude steel - up 1.5 percent, 2.479 million mt of pig iron - up 0.3 percent, and 1.670 million mt of metallurgical coke - up 0.9 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
