Ukraine-based DMKD plans to increase output in June

Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD), a subsidiary of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), plans to increase its production in the current month.

In particular, in June DMKD plans to produce 230,000 mt of crude steel, 203,000 mt of pig iron and 365,000 mt of agglomerate, requiring purchases of 34,000 mt of steel scrap.

In May this year, DMKD produced 192,000 mt of finished steel products, 190,000 mt of crude steel, 170,000 mt of pig iron and 296,000 mt of agglomerate.

In the January-May period this year, DMKD saw a 26.1 percent year-on-year decline in its finished steel product output to 1.030 million mt, a 26.9 percent decrease in its pig iron production to 911,000 mt, while its crude steel production went down by 26.4 percent year on year to 1.007 million mt.
