Ukraine to raise crude steel production in 2007

The Association of the Ukrainian Steel Producers has predicted that in 2007 the national crude steel production volume will be approximately 43.25 million metric tons, i.e. six percent higher than the result of 2006.

Ukraine's pig iron production in 2007 is estimated to reach the level of 35.79 million metric tons - an increase of nine percent year on year, while 2007 pipe production has been predicted at 2.81 million metric tons, up seven percent on 2006. In addition, the country's coke production is expected to increase by five percent year on year to 20.02 million metric tons.
