Ukraine to produce 2.5 million mt of crude steel in September

In September this year, Ukraine's crude steel production is expected to decrease by 3.8 percent compared to the anticipated August result to 2.5 million mt, according to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom.

According to Metallurgprom's forecast, pig iron output in Ukraine will total 2.4 million mt in September, down 5.9 percent compared to the anticipated figure for August.

In September, domestic steelmakers will need 650,000 mt of sintering ore, 1.8 million mt of iron ore concentrate, 140,000 mt of agglomerate, 640,000 mt of iron ore pellets, 950,000 mt of limestone, 1.180 million mt of metallurgical coke and 350,000 mt of steel scrap in order to ensure their planned production volumes in the given month.
