Ukraine to produce 2.2 million mt of crude steel in June

In June this year, crude steel production in Ukraine is expected to total 2.2 million mt, according to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom.

According to Metallurgprom's forecast, domestic rolled steel output in Ukraine will total 1.8 million mt in June growing by 12.5 percent compared to expected production in May.

In June, Ukrainian companies plan to produce 1.7 million mt of pig iron, foreseeing a rise of 17.6 percent month on month.

In the January-April period this year, pig iron output decreased by 32 percent to 6.4 million mt, crude steel production was down 30 percent to 7.0 million mt and rolled steel roll output decreased by 31 percent to 6.15 million mt, all year on year.

In April, Ukraine produced 1.7 million mt of pig iron, as well as 1.9 million mt of crude steel and 1.68 million mt of rolled steel.
