In October this year, Ukraine's long steel product exports increased by 40.3 percent compared to September and by 4.6 percent compared to October 2009, to 498,400 mt, valued at about $318 million, up 66.4 percent month on month.
Ukraine's main long steel export destinations in October were Russia (137,550 mt), Iraq (67,240 mt), Lebanon (33,240 mt), Jordan (33,020 mt), Romania (27,120 mt), Nigeria (26,350 mt), Belarus (21,570 mt), and Iran (16,410 mt).
In January-October this year, Ukraine's long steel exports increased by 19.5 percent year on year to 4.785 million mt, valued at about $2.677 billion.
Meanwhile, in October this year, Ukraine's long steel product imports went up by two percent compared to September and by 134 percent compared to October 2009, to 39,810 mt, at a cost of about $38.94 million, up 15.4 percent month on month.
The main long steel product suppliers to Ukraine in October were Russia (26,280 mt, i.e., 66 percent of total imports), Romania (3,010 mt), Bulgaria (2,840 mt), Belarus (2,470 mt), Poland (1,880 mt), and China (1,430 mt).
In January-October this year, Ukraine's long steel imports increased by 87 percent year on year to 313,470 mt, at a cost of $283.9 million.
