Ukraine removes export ban on alloy & stainless steel scrap

The Ukrainian Parliament – Verkhovna Rada – has accepted a bill prepared by the Ministry of Economy entitled “Removing export restrictions on scrap of alloy ferrous and non-ferrous metals and semi-finished products made from these”. The bill was approved by 411 out of 443 votes in parliament on Wednesday, November 29. As SteelOrbis reported previously, the current bill has proposed to remove export restrictions on, among other scrap categories, alloy and stainless steel scrap, and to replace them with export duties of 30 percent ,to be gradually decreased to 15 percent within the five-year period after Ukraine's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
