Ukraine issues production results for first quarter

In the January-March period of the current year, Ukraine registered a 32.9 percent decrease in its finished steel product output to 4.492 million mt, a 31.4 percent decrease in its crude steel output to 5.158 million mt, and a 33 percent decline in its pig iron production to 4.723 million mt, all year on year, according to the data issued by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers.

The country's production of metallurgical coke in the given period declined by 42.6 percent year on year to 2.449 million mt.

In March alone, Ukraine produced  1.696 million mt of crude steel - up 6.8 percent, 1.434 million of finished steel products - increasing by 6.9 percent, and 1.570 million mt of pig iron - rising by 9.6 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
