Ukraine issues output results for first five months

In the first five months of the current year, Ukraine registered a 7.7 percent decrease in its finished steel product output to 12.016 million mt, a 4.4 percent decrease in its crude steel output to 14.044 million mt and a one percent rise in its pig iron production to 12.093 million mt, all year-on-year, according to the data issued by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers.
The country's production of metallurgical coke in the given period went down by 0.3 percent year on year to 8.176 million mt.

In the January-May period this year, Ukraine produced 27.765 million mt of iron ore concentrate and 9.423 million mt of iron ore pellets - up three percent and four percent respectively compared to the same period last year.

In May alone, Ukraine produced 2.356 million mt of finished steel products - down 7.5 percent, 2.919 million mt of crude steel - down one percent, 2.489 million mt of pig iron - up 0.4 percent, and 1.7 million mt of metallurgical coke - up 1.8 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
