Ukraine issues Jan-June 2012 production results

In the first six months of the current year, Ukraine registered a 5.7 percent decrease in its finished steel product output to 14.174 million mt, a three percent decrease in its crude steel output to 16.839 million mt and a two percent rise in its pig iron production to 14.521 million mt, all year-on-year, according to the data issued by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers.

The country's production of metallurgical coke in the given period went up by 0.03 percent year on year to 9.801 million mt.

In the January-June period this year, Ukraine produced 33.199 million mt of iron ore concentrate and 11.278 million mt of iron ore pellets - up 2.4 percent and 2.8 percent respectively compared to the same period last year.

In June alone, Ukraine produced 2.197 million mt of finished steel products - down 6.8 percent, 2.793 million mt of crude steel - down 4.3 percent, 2.429 million mt of pig iron - down 2.4 percent, and 1.624 million mt of metallurgical coke - down 4.5 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
