Ukraine issues Jan-August 2008 production results

According to the preliminary data, in the first eight months of 2008 Ukraine increased its finished steel products output by two percent and its crude steel output by 2.47 percent year on year to 24.471 million metric tons and 29.136 million metric tons respectively.

During the given period, Ukraine saw a 2.6 percent decrease in its pig iron production to 24.309 million metric tons.
