According to the data for the first four months of 2010, Ukrainian exports of steel pipes decreased by 24.4 percent year on year to 324,340 mt, and its semi-finished steel product exports dropped by 10.5 percent year on year to about 3.689 million mt.
Meanwhile, in January-April this year, the country's exports of flat rolled steel increased by 20 percent to 2.268 million mt (including 1.964 million mt of hot rolled products - up 23.6 percent, and 282,900 mt of cold rolled products - down 1.4 percent), and its exports of long steel went up by 37.9 percent to about 2.014 million mt, both compared to the same period last year.
In addition, during the period in question, Ukraine registered a 32.7 percent increase in its pig iron exports to 537,980 mt, a 31.9 percent rise in its coke exports to 366,530 mt, and a 58.3 percent growth in its scrap exports to 218,000 mt, all compared to January-April 2009.
