Ukraine issues export data for 2007

According to the data issued by the Ukrainian State Statistics Committee, during 2007 Ukraine increased its finished steel exports by 1.8 percent year on year to 32.217 million metric tons.

In particular, during the period in question Ukraine exported 7.75 million metric tons of hot rolled flat steel - up 3.3 percent, 7.6 million metric tons of billets - down 2.1 percent, 5.49 million metric tons of rebar - down 2.5 percent, 4.1 million metric tons of slabs - down 10.6 percent, 2.002 million metric tons of steel pipes - down one percent and 2.07 million metric tons of pig iron - up 64.3 percent, all compared to 2006.

In addition, in 2007 Ukraine increased its iron ore exports by 2.6 percent, its ferroalloy exports by 1.5 percent, its metcoke exports by 36.6 percent year on year to 20.75 million metric tons, 1.22 million metric tons and 580,760 metric tons respectively.

Ukraine's scrap exports last year saw an eight percent decrease year on year to 675,760 metric tons.
