Ukraine imports 2.436 million mt of coal in Q1

According to the data released by the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in the January-March this year Ukraine imported $405.23 million worth of coal. In March this year, Ukraine imported $136.98 million worth of coal.

Ukraine's coal extraction companies extracted 9.382 million mt of unsorted, rough coal in the first quarter this year. The total volume of import coal shipments to Ukraine amounted to 2.436 million mt in the first quarter, totaling 1.19 million mt in March alone.

In the first quarter this year, Ukraine's coal imports from Russia totaled $153.8 million in value, its imports from the US amounted to $106.4 million, coal imports from South Africa totaled $45.14 million, and coal imports from other countries came to $99.81 million in value.

Export of Ukrainian coal totaled 69,690 mt in the first quarter, worth $8.308 million, including 21,738 mt worth $2.535 million in March alone.
