Ukraine foresees pig iron output of 2.107 million mt in April 2009

According to Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in April 2009 Ukrainian steelmakers plan to produce 2.107 million metric tons of pig iron, 2.430 million mt of crude steel and 2.230 million mt of rolled steel products.

In order to reach the planned output, in April Ukrainian steel makers expect to receive the following supply volumes: 475,000 mt of sintering ore, 1. 215 million mt of concentrate, 85, 000 mt of agglomerate, 798,000 mt of pellets, 1.220 million mt of metallurgical coke, and 440,000 mt of scrap. According to the Ukrainian Association of Ore-dressing Enterprises (Ukrrudprom) and to the Ukrainian coke association UkrKoks, all steel producers' demands will be entirely satisfied.

In March 2009, Ukraine is expected to produce 2.180 million mt of pig iron - up 10.6 percent compared to February 2009.
