UK basic metal output index up 4.9 percent in June from May

According to a report released by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), in June this year the UK's seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing increased by 0.5 percent compared to June 2014 and was up by 0.2 percent compared to May. According to the ONS, in the second quarter this year the country’s seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing fell by 0.3 percent quarter on quarter. 

Meanwhile, the main manufacturing component contributing to the year-on-year increase in June was transportation equipment which increased by 7.2 percent, while the main month-on-month contribution came from basic metals and metal products, increasing by 4.9 percent.
