UK basic metal production index down 2.2 percent in Jan from Dec

According to a report released by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), in January this year the UK's seasonally adjusted index of manufacturing rose by 0.3 percent compared with January 2011 and was up 0.1 percent compared to the previous month of December.

Meanwhile, in the UK the seasonally adjusted production index of basic metal and metal products rose by one percent in January this year compared with January 2011 and was down 2.2 percent compared to the previous month.
